Matthew Thomas Loomis Matthew Thomas Loomis, 44, of Salem OH, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. “I don’t regret that the ride is over, but rather feel grateful for the miles traveled, for the sights along the way, and to be exactly where I am.” (Neil Peart, Drummer from “Rush”) Matt was born on April 6, 1976, in Salem to his parents, the late Thomas and Janet (Olschlager) Loomis. He was 1995 graduate of Salem High School. He was employed for a time as a security guard at the Beaver Valley Power Plant in Monaca, PA. He was a welder by trade and was employed at the Converse All Steel Services Plant in Canfield, OH as a welder. Matt liked to try his hand at the culinary arts and dabbled in cooking for a time. He also enjoyed getting outside and going on bike rides. But, Matt’s true passion and that which brought him his greatest joy was his music. Matt filled his life with music. He was talented on both the drums and guitar and to quote Neil Peart, “
