A 14-year-old boy is in custody on a second-degree murder charge in the death of Tristyn Bailey, St. Johns County Sheriff Robert Hardwick said during a news conference Monday morning.
The suspect is being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice. He is an eighth-grader at Patriot Oaks Academy, the same school where Bailey, 13, attended seventh grade.
Hardwick said the investigation is in the very beginning stages and did not release any details related to Bailey s death, including the cause of death or how Bailey and the suspect may have been linked.
Bailey was last seen around 1:15 a.m. Sunday at the Durbin Amenity Center in the northwest community of Durbin Crossing, authorities said. The sheriff s office deployed numerous resources and began searching the immediate area. Her body was located by a resident in a remote wooded area near a pond at around 6 p.m. Sunday, Hardwick said.
The woman was driving south in the center lane around 3:30 a.m. behind the truck.
The sedan was traveling faster than the truck, and as a result, collided with the rear of the truck. The sedan rotated clockwise onto the right grass shoulder. The truck came to final rest on the right paved shoulder.
On Sept. 6, 2017, two intruders broke into a home on the 5500 block of Datil Pepper Road in St. Augustine, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office reported at the time.
The victim told investigators he was awoken just before 9:45 a.m. by a man and woman carrying a knife and gun in his home west of Dixie Highway, the sheriff’s office said. The man pistol-whipped the victim, then tied him up before fleeing with cash and a small safe with jewelry.
The victim did not know the defendant, according to the release. After Mirabal Bonora fled the scene with the money and jewelry, the victim was able to move himself to a window where he identified the getaway vehicle. He called the sheriff’s office from a neighbor’s home.
Yes, my hypochondriac imagination does get a bit elaborate.
What I do NOT think is that maybe I just tweaked a muscle. Or that maybe something simpler, or more realistic, is at play.
This was the state of me recently. Back hurting. Frantic updates made to my will. Wondering which court had jurisdiction when my family goes to sue the extraterrestrials.
Only, it seems I haven’t been alone in experiencing back pain. Because at about the same time I came across an article on the internet with a headline that read: “How to cure back pain … which is not caused by aliens.”
