161 cases, 7 deaths recorded

FOLLOWING Thursday’s spike of 321 covid19 cases, the number of cases recorded on Friday was 161. Seven covid19 deaths that day, brought the overall toll to 930.
The Health Ministry’s covid19 update of Friday said the people who died were three elderly men, two elderly women, one middle-aged man, and one middle-aged woman, all with comorbidities.
There are 6,217 active cases. Since March 2020, there have been 34,402 cases of covid19, of which 27,255 have recovered.
There are 337 people in hospital, five more than Thursday. Of these, 111 are at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with 21 in the intensive care unit and 17 in the high dependency unit.

The number of daily new cases on Thursday is almost double that of Wednesday’s figure of 115. The Health Ministry’s update on Thursday said 321 cases had been detected from samples taken between July 4-7. There have been an additional five deaths, bringing the death toll to 923.
The ministry said the people who died were three elderly men and one elderly woman, all with comorbidities, as well as one middle-aged male without comorbidities.
Since March 2020, there have been 34,241 cases, of which 27,013 have recovered.
There are 332 patients in hospital, two less than on Wednesday. Of these, there are 96 people at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with 16 in the intensive care unit and 21 in the high dependency unit. 15 deaths, 115 new covid19 cases detected

The Health Ministry has announced an additional 15 deaths due to covid19, along with 115 cases detected from samples taken between July 3 and 6.
The death toll is now 918.
In its covid19 update on Wednesday, the ministry said the people who died were six elderly men, three elderly women, two middle-aged men, one middle-aged woman, and one young adult man, all with comorbidities, as well as two middle-aged men without comorbidities.
There are 6,244 active cases.
Since March 2020, there have been 33,920 cases of covid19, of which 26,758 have recovered.
There are 334 people in hospital, five fewer than on Tuesday. Of these, 96 are at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with 12 in the intensive care unit and 24 in the high dependency unit. There are 39 at the Caura Hospital, 47 at the Augustus Long Hospital, seven at the St Ann’s Hospital, 49 at the Arima General Hospital, 42 at the new Point Fortin Hospit
