The verdict is sadly in. Our state agencies and county governments, have failed us, miserably. Well-meaning environmentalists, who wanted to save our watershed, destroyed it. It is time for the ranchers, farmers and landowners to take it back.
The Board of Supervisors should repeal the Watershed Protection Ordinance. The ordinance, per se, did not cause the conflagration. The philosophy behind it did.
The destruction they have wrought on our hillsides is indescribable.
For the past 45 years, we saw this disaster coming. We attended the meetings. Like Cassandra, we landowners warned our leaders and the thoughtful environmentalists, but no one would listen.

The warehouse industry in Southern California is pushing back against a proposed emissions rule that would make operators of distribution centers responsible for pollutants generated by trucks going into and out of their facilities.
The “indirect source” rule drafted by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) is one of the first emissions regulations in the country to take aim at the massive growth in warehouse development tied to e-commerce.
If approved the AQMD Board is expected to vote on the proposal this spring the rule would require warehouse operators to either take steps to reduce emissions, such as transition to electric trucks, or pay a fee to the air quality agency.

A Spare The Air Alert has been issued for the Bay Area. The Air Quality Management District issued an alert yesterday, and it will be in effect for most of today. That means there is a ban on burning wood both indoors and outdoors. Officials say that smoke from residential wood burning is expected to cause unhealthy air throughout the Bay Area.
