If you love Yostar’s mobile game Azur Lane and figures, manufacturers Kotobukiya and Wings have a couple of lovely treats coming.
The two manufacturers revealed almost simultaneously colored prototype of figures for Jean Bart in her “Uninhibited Bloodstone” dress and Ryuuhou in the “Firebird’s New Year Dance” kimono.
Pre-orders for both figures are coming soon, but we don’t yet know release details and pricing.
Incidentally, Ryuuhou is designed by Tony Taka, whom you may know as the character designer of the modern Shining series of JRPG. His style is certainly recognizable.
The one thing we know, is that they both look absolutely gorgeous.

Azur Lane will celebrate the 2021 Lunar New Year by adding the native Chao Ho-class cruisers to the roster of the China-inspired Dragon Empery. Although the ships were historically protected cruisers, the World War II era-focused game will categorize them as light cruisers.
The Japanese official Twitter account described ROC Chao Ho as the elder sister who excels in dancing. She looks like a completely different person when she dances elegantly. However, she has a tsundere personality to cover her true shy self, so she is often mistaken as short-tempered.

Since we’re coming close to the Chinese Lunar New Year, the two shipgirls hail appropriately from the Dragon Empery, which is the in-game equivalent of China.
They’re Elite light cruisers Chao Ho and Ying Swei. Both belong to the Chao Ho class and were launched in 1911, and both were sunk by Japanese aircraft in 1937.
