Closure is essential in the healing process after losing a loved one, but now, some families are having to wait for that because of delays within the Medical Examiner s Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Last August, Tawana Hogan lost her husband of 10 years, William.
She says one Sunday morning, he was having stomach pain so he stayed home from church.
When she got back, Hogan said his condition had gotten much worse. Paramedics had to come to the house. We were on the way to the ER, but we didn t make it. Even the doctor was dumbfounded about the fact how he was 43, seemingly healthy. He didn t understand it, Hogan said.

The first body was identified as 21-year-old Gerald Walton. The GBI Medical Examiner s Office confirmed the second body was not Candace Walton, but rather her mother, Tasha.
But where was Candace, and where was that car?
Monroe County Sheriff s Office already had a missing person alert for the mother earlier in the day, containing with this car s description and its license plate number.
By that afternoon, the U.S. Marshals stopped the car hundreds of miles away in McCracken County, Kentucky.
Candace Walton was driving, and the district attorney says she had about $2,300 with her her mother s tax refund.

MACON, Ga. Lester Miller’s official term as the mayor of Macon-Bibb County as soon as we enter 2021, and he’s already planning to sign three executive orders sometime at the beginning of next week to help the county get a handle on its rising COVID-19 cases.
13WMAZ reporter Ashlyn Webb sat down with Miller on Thursday for a wide-ranging interview on his plans.
He says these orders can’t wait two weeks, which is the earliest the full commission could vote on them.

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ga. Crawford County High School will move to online learning on December 10, and will return to in-person learning in January.
According to a Facebook post from Crawford County Schools, there will be no in-person learning until January 6 at the high school.
The school will send out information about finals through emails, the website, phone calls and social media.
This is only for the high school. Crawford County Middle School, Crawford County Elementary School and Crawford County Eagles Nest will continue in-person learning.
