A care home worker who intercepted an intruder in a Redfield care home has been awarded.
Richard Beech A FAILED businessman become the sixth and final member of an organised crime ring operating in Bradford to be put behind bars this month. Richard Beech was jailed for five years for laundering £5 million of drugs money for the gang. He made frequent trips between his home in Manchester and West Yorkshire to collect and deliver large amounts of cash concealed in hidden compartments under the seats of his specially modified Range Rover. He was labelled the “cash converter and banker” for the organisation led by Rashid Ashraf (also known as Mohammed Rashid) who was jailed for 18 years.

Belleville Mayor Mitch Panciuk’s new year’s address has promised more improvements to city infrastructure and services.
The address, posted Friday morning to the city’s YouTube channel, contained no major announcements. With pandemic restrictions prevented the staging of the traditional New Year’s Day levees, Panciuk and other politicians recorded videos reflecting upon 2020 and outlining plans for the new year.
“We wish you great prosperity and health and happiness,” Panciuk said in his opening remarks.
He said the pandemic was “a very stressful and challenging time” around the world but expressed pride in city staff and citizens for working together to offer compassionate help to others.

It was yet another unusual and unprecedented event in a year chock full of them.
Mayor of Belleville Mitch Panciuk, like other local municipal leaders, gave the annual New Year’s Levee address online via YouTube today (New Year’s Day).
The mayor spoke from council chambers at city hall and had high praise for those working for the City of Belleville and for the city’s residents.
“We’ve all had to confront a lot challenges in this difficult year, and we did. We worked together, and together we’re “Belleville Strong”. I’m very proud of our staff (municipal)

The Bullsbrook bushfire has been downgraded to a Watch and Act alert as favourable conditions help firefighters battle the blaze.
The alert is in place for people bounded by Chittering Road and Hoad Street to the north, Springvale Road and Avondale Road to east, Smith Road and Ashton Road to the south, and April Close, Bonita Road and Coventry Crossing to the west in the north eastern parts of Bullsbrook.
