Burnham-On-Sea Police are to hold a free bicycle security marking session in the town this weekend.
Officers are offering local bike owners a chance to get them marked and registered for free by Avon & Somerset Police.
“We will be set up on the North Esplanade on Burnham seafront on Sunday 16th May from 11am until 2pm,” says a spokesman.

Suspected hand grenade destroyed in controlled explosion
By Mary Milton, Monday May 10, 2021
A suspected hand grenade has been destroyed by a bomb disposal team.
The device was discovered by builders during groundworks for a house extension, with neighbours living nearby evacuated after police were called.
A loud bang could be heard as the device was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
Independent journalism is needed now more than ever.
“We had a knock on the door about 6pm,” she told Bristol24/7.
“[We] had to evacuate whilst they waited for bomb logistics to arrive. They took our number and we had a call at 8.30pm to say it had all been dealt with and we could return home. All quite dramatic, but everyone safe.”
After first contacting one of his victims online, this later progressed to physical meetings, with Rawlings booking hotels for them to meet in, where he groomed and exploited her into a sexual relationship with him.
Registered sex offender Rawlings, who was first convicted in 2012, pleaded guilty to 33 charges in relation to nine children.
Judge James Patrick said that Rawlings was a dangerous, obsessed and persistent paedophile who targets young people for sexual gratification and a feeling of power.
The judge said: “You scared your child victims and caused them emotional torment. You ripped families apart. You have worsened the lives of the vulnerable. You have ruined trust. You have caused some to feel suicidal.”
