Customers of a South Tampa Publix will have the chance to sip wine or beer as they shop in the future.
The Publix at 3615 W Gandy Blvd. was first built in 1986, county records show. And according to plans submitted to the city, it will soon be undergoing an $8.8 million renovation that includes the installation of a craft beer bar.
Residents near Selmon Expressway invited to share feedback on expansion project

TAMPA, Fla. - Plans to add lanes to the Selmon Expressway are in the works but first, the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) wants to hear feedback from residents in a public meeting Thursday.
THEA started a South Selmon Project Development and Environment study in 2019 to look at where and how to add lanes on the toll road. The project would run about 4.5 miles from Himes Avenue to Whiting Street downtown.
The Palma Ceia playground and dog park falls within the study area in South Tampa since the park and surrounding neighborhood back up to the Selmon Expressway.

Excitement builds as Super Bowl game day arrives

TAMPA, Fla. - It s almost here: Super Bowl 55 will be underway tonight around 6:30 p.m.
The Buccaneers will be trying to walk away as the first team in history win the Super Bowl on their home field. It means everything, said Ren Turner, who traveled from Tennessee just to take in the atmosphere of his favorite team being in the Super Bowl. We got this far. It is not over yet. Until we win it all, that is when we will really get excited.
The enormity of the moment is setting in as the Tampa Police Department closed roads around the stadium.
