Third series for Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard s Sky comedy Sky’s parenting comedy Breeders has been renewed for a third series, the broadcaster announced tonight. The news comes as the second series, starring Daisy Haggard  and co-creator Martin Freeman, launches on Sky One tonight. Series two jumps forward in time so the young children of the first run are now aged ten and 13. Simon Blackwell, who co-writes the series with former stand-up Chris Addison, teased the possible third series last month, saying: ‘If there were a Season 3, we would want to make it as distinctive and as ambitious as the first two, so there would be some different stuff going on.’

Darlington sign Tommy Taylor and Lexus Beeden

Darlington manager Alun Armstrong DARLINGTON have continued their summer recruitment drive with the double signing of goalkeeper Tommy Taylor and defender Lexus Beeden. Taylor joins Quakers following his release from Buxton, having spent a season with the Northern Premier League club. The 28-year-old started his career in the youth system at Sheffield Wednesday before joining Brighouse in 2011. He has played for Halifax Town and Farsley as well as spending time at Scarborough Athletic, where he was a team-mate of former Darlington captain Kevin Burgess and helped the North Yorkshire club win promotion from EvoStik First Division North. Darlington boss Alun Armstrong said: “Tommy wants to play at a higher level than what he’s been playing at in recent years, and we’re happy to give him that opportunity.

Darlington tie down defender for another season

22-year-old defender Alex Storey has signed until the end of the 2021/22 National League North season. Storey has made 38 appearances for the Quakers, scoring twice. The defender s commitment adds to a list of players that have chosen to remain at the club for next season.  Joe Wheatley, Luke Charman, Jarrett Rivers, Ben Hedley and Jamie Holmes have all extended their deals at Blackwell Meadows while Manager Alun Armstrong said:  Alex was just getting back to his best when the season was halted. We know he s got the ability and this year is a big year for him to kick on. Darlington have also been busy on the transfer front this week.

Darlington to face Premier League U23's side in pre season

Darlington s pre season continues to take shape with more friendlies to be announced Darlington will take their first team squad to Newcastle United Under 23 s in a pre season friendly. The game at Blackwell Meadows is due to be played on Saturday 24th July in front of spectators.  The Quakers pre season campaign continues to take shape with a friendly against League Two Harrogate Town due to be played on Tuesday 27th July.  Alun Armstrong s side have been tieing down current members of the first teams squad to new deals for the 2021/22 National League North season while two new signings have been made.
