LONDON (Reuters) - Chicago-based Cboe said on Thursday it would launch its delayed equity derivatives trading hub in Amsterdam in September, the latest move by financial markets to base their European footprint in the Dutch capital after Brexit.
Cboe, already one of the biggest pan-European share trading platforms with operations in London and Amsterdam, said ABN AMRO Clearing, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley had signed up to participate.
Cboe’s in-house clearing arm, Amsterdam-based EuroCCP, will clear the equity derivatives trades.
Origin seeks to gain from coal power cutbacks

Origin Energy is understood to have opted to cut back generation at its huge coal power station in NSW in favour of buying cheap electricity from the wholesale market early this year in an example of the responses by traditional generators to the soft demand and prices plaguing the sector.
The approach by Origin, which partly explains the drop in the running rate of Eraring noted in the Australian Energy Market Operatorâs March quarter report, would result in cost savings as it took advantage of lower prices to buy from the pool rather than running its own, higher-cost plant.
Coal the loser as power prices smashed

Mushrooming rooftop solar and mild summer weather have driven demand for power from the grid to the lowest for 19 years for the peak summer quarter, cutting wholesale prices by up to 68 per cent and pushing major coal and gas power generators such as AGL Energy to the brink.
NSW, Victoria and South Australia all had record low demand for power from the centralised grid for the three months of the year when consumption is typically highest and prices the most volatile.
The installation of rooftop solar panels hit a fresh high for a March quarter of about 800 megawatts.
