The incident happened on January 13 at a home in Montegut in the Terrebonne Parish.

A Louisiana man facing rape charges tried to have his accuser killed, but two hit men instead ended up killing his sister and her neighbor, authorities said Monday. Neither Hope Nettleton, 37, nor Brittany Cormier, 34, was the person that the hit men had been hired to kill on January 13, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff s Office said. To have a double homicide of this nature is very unusual, Sheriff Tim Soignet said.

THIBODAUX, La. – Three Louisiana men accused of gunning down two innocent women in a murder-for-hire plot last month were arrested, authorities said.
But the two women who died weren t the intended targets of the plot, police said.
The plot was originally designed to kill a woman who was accusing one of the three men, Beaux Cormier, of rape. Instead, Cormier s sister Brittany and her 34-year-old neighbor were left dead.
Beaux Cormier, 35, Andrew Eskine, 25, and Dalvin Wilson, 22, are each charged with two counts of first-degree murder, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet said during a news conference Monday.
Authorities responded Jan. 13 to investigate reports of shots fired and found the two women suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead shortly afterward.
