Plans for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta are moving forward.
Approximately 600 balloons are expected to participate in the fiesta, which was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. When we had to postpone last year s event, almost every pilot said but I want to be back next year. Can I be on the list for next year. We re seeing a lot of those same pilots come back, said Amanda Molina who works in media relations for the Balloon Fiesta.
Molina said workers are trying to figure out how a Balloon Fiesta will look in a world with COVID-19.
Tickets go on sale July 2.

The announcement came from Balloon Fiesta officials, announcing that tickets which normally go on sale six months before the event, will go on sale July 2, 2021. A spokesperson said, We re going to wait until July 2 to sell tickets this year so that we, and you, will have more details about travel and what conditions may be applied to Balloon Fiesta. Erika Estrada-Quezada and Norma Estrada, owners of Twins Learning Center, were honored at this year’s “Virtual Roundhouse” series sponsored by the New Mexico Small Business Development Center and the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce. The state’s 18 Small Business Development Centers select Star Client businesses each year for the honor. Owners of the businesses, selected from every region of the state, are individually recognized by state legislators for their successes. Later, all are honored at the SBDC’s Annual Star Client state dinner with Lt. Gov. Howie Morales.
This year’s selections and appearances were held virtually due to the COVID pandemic. The SBDC at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque selected Twins Learning Center as its Star Client Business for 2020. With the help of the SBDC at CNM, the mother-daughter business owners have grown the business from a small home childcare business in 2018 to a successful commercial enterprise with multiple loc
