ALBION, MI (WNWN) – The new Albion City Manager is a native of the community and it’s hope she can put a stop to the office’s revolving door.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports Haley Snyder has been appointed to the position by the Albion City Council after she had served as the interim City Manager since the departure of Darwin McClary last July.
McClary was the third person in three years to serve as Albion City Manager.
Snyder graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in public administration.
She has worked in other capacities for the City of Albion including a time as Assistant City Manager under McClary.
35-year-old Khaleem T. Jones was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital Friday night after reportedly jumping in front of a vehicle on a county highway east of Cisne. Police say 22-year-old Brandon W. Cottonaro hit Jones and knocked him into a ditch. North Wayne EMS was also called to the scene, and a tow truck was called to the scene.
54-year-old Burnt Prairie resident Russell J. Pragit was sentenced in Wayne County Court last Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to a Class 3 felony count of possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 24 months conditional discharge and time served in jail. Several other counts and cases against him were dismissed, and Pragit was ordered to pay $2,801 in fines and court costs.
