Gary F. Brudnige, who is a registered sex offender, fled the area after the woman called police around 1:30 a.m. He was arrested by sheriff s investigators after returning to the area later Saturday morning, police said.

Protesters say they were given 15 minutes warning before their encampment was broken up. Eight people were arrested and some being detained, according to police.

On Sunday night, Fulton County Sheriff Rich Giardino was dealing with the latter. After a year long pandemic, the first case of Covid inside the Fulton County Jail was discovered two Fridays ago when initially three inmates tested positive. We peaked Friday, two days ago, Giardino stated, We had 38 inmates who were positive, some of them have recovered and some have been quarantined. Giardino says all 99 inmates who were locked up at the time were offered Covid testing, but many refused. Staff members, on the other hand, were mandated to get tested.

On Sunday, Oct. 18, at about 12:15 a.m., Michael Thomas shot a 31-year-old man in the back while in the area of Lexington Avenue and Sherman Street, police said.  The victim was treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
