Mr Al Hashemi is currently the chief executive of Thuraya Telecommunications Company, the mobile satellite services subsidiary of Yahsat. COVID-19: Kuwait sees 2% increase in ICU capacity

Kuwait City: The head of the COVID-19 team at Kuwait’s Ministry of Health, Dr Hashem Al Hashemi, has revealed that there has been a two per cent increase in COVID-19 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) compared to last month, Al Jarida reported. Al Hashemi also announced that bed occupancy for COVID-19 patients has increased - from 7 per cent at the end of December to 9 per cent in the middle of January. As for the percentage of positive COVID-19 cases to swabs conducted, there has also been a slight increase given that a month ago Kuwait was at 4 per cent compared to 5.2 per cent in the past week.
