KUWAIT CITY, May 24: Amidst mounting calls from parliamentarians for equality of expats with Kuwaiti citizens to allow vaccinated expats, the sources revealed that data is being analyzed to lift ban on expats who are vaccinated and have valid residence from some countries. The rules will be similar to Kuwaitis for Expats who have been vaccinated with one of the doses of vaccine approved in Kuwait such as AstraZenca – Oxford, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson with quarantine period and pcr test.
Those in transit will be allowed to enter Kuwait are the ones who have been vaccinated with approved vaccines in Kuwait. Passengers from high risk countries will not be allowed, reports Al Rai. The Government Communication Center will be publishing a list of high-risk countries on a weekly basis in coordination with the Ministry of Health. Dubai: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced that it has summoned a security officer for assaulting a man at a shopping centre.
On its official social media accounts, the Ministry of Interior said: “A video clip was circulated on some social media sites [with regard to] the improper behaviour of a security man against a resident who was waiting in line for the coronavirus vaccine.”
“The relevant authorities in the ministry has summoned the security man and is investigating the incident.”
The Interior Ministry condemned the actions of the security officer, and stressed that security authorities work to preserve the rights and duties of citizens and residents. It also pointed out that no one is above the law and action will be taken accordingly.
Oxford vaccines third batch to arrive in Kuwait this month
The Ministry of Health (MoH) confirmed that the Oxford vaccines third batch is scheduled to be received by a local agent in Kuwait this month, pending the completion of all laboratory tests and other tests to ensure their safety and to make sure the safety procedures were followed with regards to shipping and transportation, in the interest of public health and safety, Al Rai daily reported.
The ministry said in a statement on Saturday that those who are scheduled to receive the second vaccine dose will be informed after a period of no more than 4 months between the two doses.
