Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin underlined that “the call for greater understanding and tolerance continues to contribute to the building of a strong foundation of shared responsibility and solidarity, a caring and sharing community”.
He made these comments in his welcoming remarks at the ASEAN High-Level Cultural Forum on Promoting an Adaptive ASEAN Community of Greater Understanding, Tolerance and a Sense of Regional Agendas Among the Peoples of ASEAN on Thursday.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam commended the patience displayed by Brunei citizens and residents during the pandemic, while also highlighting the contributions made by the country’s frontliners.
In his titah delivered yesterday at the Hari Raya Celebration organised by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the monarch said, “Aidilfitri is a victorious day for Muslims who have successfully completed their fasting obligations, and it is only appropriate to observe the festivities with great thankfulness.
“Last year, Aidilfitri was celebrated in a different atmosphere, as a result of the global pandemic.

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the establishment of the Palestine Humanitarian Fund 2021 from May 26 to August 23, following an agreement between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
The establishment of the humanitarian fund will allow the public to make monetary contributions in a direct and transparent manner, while also enabling various parties to organise charity and welfare activities for the victims in Palestine.
