Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Bambol Tolentino announced this following an online meeting with the SEAG Federation last Tuesday, saying that the biennial meet will still push through but with a strict vaccination protocol against COVID-19.
“Their policy (no vaccine, no participation) policy is for the good of everyone,” Tolentino said in a statement.
Tolentino also said they have already written to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) to prioritize SEAG-bound delegates, adding that they are ready to take any vaccine brand.
Most of the athletes from Southeast Asia are already vaccinated, according to Tolentino.

The Vietnam SEA Games Organizing Committee made the announcement during an online SEA Games Federation meeting on Tuesday, said Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Abraham Tolentino.

President Rodrigo Duterte approved the naturalization of Gilas Pilipinas player Angelo Kouame after the Chief Executive signed into law the papers that made the center eligible to play for the national team.
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al Panlilio made the announcement Tuesday, May 18, as he expressed his gratitude to the President and other government officials that helped the federation in the process to naturalize Kouame.
“The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) is elated to announce that Angelo Kouame’s Filipino naturalization is now official,” Panlilio, a longtime basketball official, said in a statement.

This, after national rowing team member Cris Nievarez earned a spot in the rescheduled Games where he will be competing in the men’s single sculls.
The welcome news was announced by the Philippine Rowing Association (PRA) on Monday after getting official communication from the World Rowing Federation.
“We are happy to share that the Philippine Rowing Association received confirmation from World Rowing that we have qualified for the Men’s Single Sculls (M1x) for the Tokyo Olympic Games. Congratulations, Cris!” wrote the PRA on its official Facebook page.
