Al Dahra digitally transforms food security supply chain with SAP , February 9, 2021 SAP SE today announced that SAP Ariba solutions has helped Middle East agribusiness Al Dahra save 10 per cent to 15 per cent in procurement, while helping the region avoid a potential food shortage during the Covid-19 pandemic.    Middle East and North Africa region is among the world’s largest food importers, according to a recent report by the Brookings Institution.   Over the past two years, Al Dahra has doubled its workforce from 2,500 to more than 5,000 employees and now operates in 15 countries across four continents. As part of its digital transformation roadmap, Al Dahra digitalized its end-to-end procurement processes with SAP Ariba solutions, increasing cost savings, better managing categories, and enhancing compliance and transparency.

Photo: WAM Israel’s Watergen (also Water-gen), the company that developed patented technology that turns air into drinking water, signed a strategic partnership agreement with Al Dahra Holding Company, an Abu Dhabi-based producer of essential animal feed and food products. The pair will partner in the area of water security, UAE news agency WAM reported on Thursday. The Israeli company’s advanced tech will help provide large quantities of drinking water, as well as water used in the irrigation of farms, parks, reserves, ranches, and remote areas.
