QRCS, UNHCR support life-saving surgeries, provide medical equipment for Yemen hospitals [EN/AR] Format March 15th, 2021 ― Doha: In partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) executes a project to enhance health care services for refugees in Yemen. Recently, 19 surgeries were performed for ill refugees, including vein transplantations, diagnostic/therapeutic catheterizations, cardiac stent placements, tumor removals, sampling, and skin grafts for burn treatment. QRCS’s representation mission in Yemen procured medical equipment for the Al-Thawra General Hospital, Al-Jomhouri Teaching Hospital, and the Central Laboratory of Sanaa. The supplies included 36 syringe pumps, six DC Shock devices, and three vein viewers.

The Peninsula Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has opened a new Extended Intensive Care Service (EICS) department at the Al-Jomhouri University Hospital in Sanaa, Yemen, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). During the opening ceremony, Donia Aslam Khan, Communication Director at UNHCR, expressed her happiness for the new department, which is one of the largest in Sanaa. She showed pride of this joint achievement made by UNHC and QRCS, wishing that this partnership would go farther ahead.

QRCS opens new EICS department at Al-Jomhouri Hospital in Yemen [EN/AR] Format February 22nd, 2021 ― Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has opened a new Extended Intensive Care Service (EICS) department at the Al-Jomhouri University Hospital in Sanaa, Yemen, in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). In the presence of the Minister of Public Health and Population (MOH), the Amanat Al-Asimah Governor, and the hospital’s director, the operation of the new EICS department was the last step of the project to support health care for refugees in Sanaa. During the opening ceremony, Donia Aslam Khan, Communication Director at UNHCR, expressed her happiness for the new department, which is one of the largest in Sanaa.
