In celebration of the Italian National Week, the Italian Embassy in collaboration with Bait Al Zubair Foundation will be hosting a series of activities to exhibit Italian heritage and culture at Bait Al Nahdha at Bait Al Zubair from May 21 to 25, 2017.
The celebration kicked off with a photography exhibition held on May 21 with Italian photographer Nilo Domanico demonstrating “Oman in the Eyes of an Italian”. It was held under the auspices of Her Highness Susan al Said.
Domanico’s photos chronicled his journey through the Sultanate over the last few years. On his exhibit, he showcased different aspects of life and people in Oman, shooting the breathtaking landscapes, the historical architecture of villages and forts, and the “pearls” of Muscat The Sultan Qaboos Mosque and The Royal Opera House Muscat. Most of his photos have been exhibited in Italy and were awarded internationally.
Fifteen artists from different countries will call Muscat home for almost a week for the 2nd Bait Al Zubair International Arts Forum held from July 20 - 26, 2019.Organised in collaboration with Shangri la Barr Al Jissah, the forum’s main aim is to gather elite artists from Oman and a few selected from around the world in one place to give them an.

Al Faisal aims to bounce back

SPIELBERG, Austria: Oman’s Al Faisal al Zubair resumes his quest for glory in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at the Red Bull Ring, near Spielberg, in Austria this weekend.
The Porsche GT3 drivers were last in action at the Monte-Carlo Grand Prix over five weeks ago and Al Zubair is keen to put a premature retirement from that race firmly to the back of his mind as the series heads to Austria.
“I think this will be another weekend when I will be learning a lot,” said FZ Racing’s Al Faisal, who is a member of the experienced Lechner Racing Middle East team. “This is a new track for me. I have never been here before and I will only have 45 minutes to learn it before we start the qualifying session.”

A sweeping look at the artworks currently displayed in Gallery Sarah would automatically remind one of a nostalgic, happy past. The “Faces of Memory” solo exhibit by prominent and multi-awarded Omani artist Enaam Ahmed launched March 6 presents an array of paintings that narrate dramatic scenes of traditional women doing different chores, slices of life taken from daily scenes, including the performance of dances and traditional crafts.
They were happy memories if one is to base it on the colours and the scenes depicted. Enaam, for most of her work, used light colours successfully communicating the heavy influence of her tradition into her being an artist.
