A Way-Too-Early Look at the 2022 Roster

A Way-Too-Early Look at the 2022 Roster We re not quite in the dog days of summer, but it sure feels like it. The trade deadline is still far enough away that it s too early to talk about specifics on trades and it s way too early to think about playoff intrigue (for those teams that have a chance at being involved). As early as it is, it isn t totally crazy to take a quick gander at the full roster going into 2022. There s obviously a lot yet to be learned in 2021, but it never hurts to think about the future. Yeah, it s totally crazy to not sign any free agents at all, but let s see where the holes start to appear before doing much more. Got to like his passion for the game and his demeanor handling the young staff. Grade B

Tigers, Indians postponed, playing doubleheader on Wednesday

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Tigers and Indians stopped before they started. Following a lengthy delay before the first pitch, Tuesday night’s game between Detroit and Cleveland Indians was postponed by rain. Both starting pitchers warmed up in the outfield bullpens and it appeared the second game of the series between the AL Central teams was set to start on time when the grounds crew brought out the tarp just minutes ahead of the first pitch. Only a light rain came down in Progressive Field before it was officially called after an 87-minute delay, triggering boos from disappointed fans. The game was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, two seven-inning games starting at 4 p.m. The weather forecast, however, is not very promising.
