At last month’s Envisioning the Future of Buildings workshop, participants shared their thoughts on Covestro’s latest research Will buildings in 2030 be designed for flying cars? Will robots construct our homes? Will we be living on floating platforms? These were some of the questions considered by architects who took part in the AJ Summit online workshop, Envisioning the Future of Buildings, on 11 March. The event, hosted by polymer manufacturer  Covestro, was the first it has staged in the UK as part of a project it launched eight months ago with German university students and its own construction experts to identify future building trends. It was also the first research workshop held with architecture professionals by the company, which is now expanding its study into France and the UK.

In addition to new trustees, the foundation also established a Community Council to broaden perspectives and engage people across the region. “In order to meet our mission, we need a strong board that understands the evolving needs of our communities,” said Adirondack Foundation Chairman Rich Kroes. “The collective skills and wisdom of our new trustees and community council members adds to the foundation’s overall effectiveness as we work to build healthier, stronger, more equitable communities.”

Published: 12:27 PM April 16, 2021    Chermond Gymnastics Club is appealing for help after being forced to evacuate its premises due to the pandemic - Credit: Chermond Gymnastics Club A gymnastics club which has served the community in Norwich for more than four decades is desperately seeking for help in finding a new home after running out of funds.  Chermond Gymnastics Club, which was founded by Cherie and Raymond Alcock in June 1980, is a non-profit organisation which provides children of low income families an opportunity to learn the sport. After 12 months of paying rent with no money due to the pandemic, the club has run out of funds to be able to continue operating at their unit on the Delta Close Industrial Estate.
