The Week of Hate is now over. It certainly was a week to hate as the New Jersey Devils put in some of their worst performances in this season against the one team no Devils fan wants to see them suffer against. Thursday’s 0-4 loss was especially terrible; arguably their worst performance of the season. Hopefully it was their rock-bottom game of the season There were plenty of cringe-worthy moments. Take your pick: Damon Severson, who has 473 NHL games of experience, failing to defend a 2-on-1 competently; former Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban continuing to flop in the middle instead of defending a 2-on-1; watching the Devils watch the plodding Kevin Rooney split the D for a breakaway; just about every power play situation for New Jersey; taking a too many men on the ice call during a penalty kill on Saturday; the lack of discipline and the passive diamond penalty kill on Sunday; and so forth. I could go further

Big offseason awaits after Flyers stand pat at trade deadline
Flyers General Manager Chuck Fletcher discusses the state of the team at a press conference following the NHL trade deadline.
A slow news day wasn’t exactly good news for anxious Flyers fans as the National Hockey League’s trade deadline came and went on Monday.
The Flyers roster, which some would argue is in need of a shakeup after likely missing out on the playoffs for the fifth time in the last nine years, remained largely intact after dozens of players switched uniforms around the league.
Ryan Pulock s celebration said it all.
The Islanders defenseman, who had scored 10, 9 and 10 goals in each of the past three years, had yet to score in 41 games this season.
It wasn t for lack of trying, as Pulock s 90 shots - entering the game - were the third-most on the team. So when Pulock broke through, the soft-spoken defenseman let out a big roar, hitting the glass in excitement as his teammates mobbed him. They [the team] were maybe more excited than I was, which is kind of tough, Pulock. Obviously for me, throughout my career I ve been able to score a little bit. To go through a little slump like that is tough, and as the games wore on, it got tougher. I knew I just needed to get that one and obviously it came in a big moment. I m excited about that.
