The Diamondbacks Minor League affiliates combined to a 1-3 record. Hillsboro was the only team that was able to pull off the win with some very lopsided scores along the way. Brandon Pfaadt was the only notable pitching prospect that took the mound.

Reno didn’t put up much of a fight in this one, trailing from beginning to end. Scott Kazmir stymied the Reno lineup for 6 innings, allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk. Reno did get a pair of doubles from Andrew Young and Drew Ellis, but the team collectively went 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position. On the pitching side, Humberto Mejia would allow 4 runs in 3 innings. Brandyn Sittinger and West Tunnell would each allow 2 runs in their outing.
For May and June, the game’s best prospects have been spread out across the country from Portland, Maine, to San Jose, California, and many points in between. On July 11, several of them will be on the same shimmering diamond Denver’s Coors Field for the All-Star Futures Game.
