More Information About the Spring Semester

More Information About the Spring Semester February 3, 2021 Dear Students, Spring semester classes will begin on February 17th, and we are excited to welcome you back. As was the case in the fall, we have students who will be returning to campus as well as students who will be enrolled and taking classes remotely. As you prepare for the start of the semester, I want to provide some information about what to expect during the arrival period and the initial weeks of the semester. Some of this information will be familiar to you if you were enrolled in the fall, but there are important changes. So please read carefully and keep a copy as a resource: it includes most of the information you’ll need for a safe and successful transition back to academic life.

Staff Editorial: University s COVID-19 testing plan needs clarification

Jan 19: Winter Semester Planning Update

Prior to Traveling There are three public health precautions we ask you to take as you prepare to travel to Bates: Close your social circle. Ten days prior to arriving on campus, start to limit non-essential interactions with other people outside of those with whom you live and work. Be mindful of how you can reduce your chances of exposure. If possible, get tested for COVID-19 within 72 hours prior to arrival on campus. No matter where you are currently residing, if COVID-19 testing is available in your area, please get a test before you begin traveling. If you test positive, you should not return to campus. Rather, contact Bates Health Services (healthservices@bates.edu) to notify the staff of your positive test.
