H+H wins health & safety award 5 May, 2021 SHARE H+H has won the Best Health & Safety in Manufacturing category at The Safety & Health Excellence Awards 2020 for an innovative programme to improve safety in its yards and transportation.
The Safety and Health Excellence Awards, organised in conjunction with the British Safety Industry Federation, received over 200 entries across 10 categories from a wide range of industry sectors. The awards, hosted this year by Alistair McGowan, celebrate the best in safety, health, security and fire practices and initiatives.
H+H faced stiff competition with 8 shortlisted organisations within the Best Health & Safety in Manufacturing category itself.
This time, however, the spotlight will be turned on the programme itself and whether it was set up fairly and honourably – and, when a few months later it was shown that some falsehoods had been used to obtain the interview, whether the BBC failed in its own internal inquiry.
The story of the Diana interview will also be the subject of a new stage play,
The Outsider, penned by a former TV journalist who worked closely with Bashir.
The
Panorama special, presented by the award-winning John Ware, is believed to include an interview with Earl Spencer, who introduced Bashir to his sister. It will be broadcast before Lord Dyson, a former master of the rolls, delivers his own report into the Diana programme. His inquiry has asked whether steps taken by Bashir and the BBC to gain the original

EVESHAM’S independent cinema has received a huge cash boost which the owners say will help ‘secure the venue’s future’ following the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. The Regal Cinema on Port Street has been allocated £197, 917 which has been administered by the British Film Institute (BFI) from the second round of funding provided by the government’s Culture Recovery Fund. The cinema was previously awarded £142,225 from the first round of government funding earlier this year. In a joint statement, family owners Ian, Sue and Laurence Wiper, who bought and restored the Regal after a campaign from Evesham residents in 2008, said: “We are delighted with our grant award from the BFI.
