‘Meg Show’ shines in Syracuse women’s 19-5 win over Louisville
Updated Apr 16, 2021;
With 82 seconds left in the first half of a women’s lacrosse game between No. 3 Syracuse and No. 15 Louisville, the Orange’s Meaghan Tyrrell intercepted a pass and sprinted downfield toward the opposing net. Just inches away from the crease and possibly her fifth goal of the day, Louisville’s Sarah Blalock decided a yellow card was better than letting Tyrrell score again.
She stayed down on the turf holding her face as Emily Ehle and Megan Carney frantically waved for the trainer. Seconds passed at a molasses pace, and things didn’t look good for the team’s current top player. But the Syracuse sideline breathed a collective sigh of relief when Tyrrell stood up and jogged off the field of play.
