The students assemble on the bridge above Shell Creek where the young coho will be released. Two thousand wriggling Coho fry were trucked to the release site from the Willow Creek Fish Hatchery just above the Edmonds Marsh. Each student team carried buckets containing an estimated 250 fish to the release site. The young coho get pretty crowded in the transport buckets, so each was fitted with an aerator to ensure that plenty of oxygen was available during this critical time.
