KWSB official ‘roughed up by PTI men’
MNA, supporters accused of breaching 33-inch water pipeline
KARACHI:
An executive engineer of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has lodged a complaint against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Faheem Khan, a PTI local leader, Shamshad Khan, and around 150 others for torturing KWSB officials and holding them in illegal confinement.
The KWSB staff was roughed up for trying to stop the country s ruling party members from committing water theft, said KWSB Executive Engineer Irfan Ullah, speaking to the media outside the Industrial Area police station.
Ironically, while the public representatives had no shame or remorse in publicly breaching a pipeline to spud an illegal connection and beat up any one confronting them on this illegal act, the police, responsible for enforcing the law, were shy of registering a case against them, the public servant told the media.

Leader of the Opposition in Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani and his son Ali Haider Gilani submitted their replies in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as the commission heard a petition filed by PTI leaders seeking disqualification of the former prime minister from the Senate seat.
As the hearing began on Monday, Gilani requested the commission to dismiss disqualification pleas against him for being ‘inadmissible’ as the allegations levelled by the PTI members were ‘baseless’ and ‘frivolous’. He further called Parliamentary Leader for Railways Farrukh Habib and Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Barrister Maleeka Bokhari as ‘habitual petitioners’. The case was filed on the basis of some ‘unauthentic’ videos, he claimed.

ECP issues notices to PTI MNAs in vote video scandal
Ali Haider Gilani says the footage is ‘tampered’
ISLAMABAD:
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued notices to the two MNAs of the ruling PTI who could allegedly be seen in the vote cancelling video of Ali Haider Gilani, son of Leader of Opposition in Senate Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Last month, a day before the Senate elections, a video of Ali Haider emerged on the official Twitter handle of the PTI in which he was telling the ruling party’s lawmakers about techniques of wasting their votes.
The PTI, while terming the leaked video clip “shameful”, asked the ECP to take notice of it. Ruling party’s lawmakers Farrukh Habib and Maleeka Bokhari filed a petition against Gilani seeking his disqualification.
