ODM leader Raila Odinga is said to be assembling heavy campaign machinery a year before the 2022 General Election.
According to a Member of Parliament close to Odinga, the former prime minister is expecting at least four choppers from France.
The source intimated that the payment was already completed and the helicopters would be arriving in Nairobi soon for assembly.

“We expect the choppers to be shipped soon before they can be assembled locally,” the MP said.

Factional politics and supremacy wars have stalled efforts of the Jumuiya ya Kaunti za Pwani (JKP) established to scale up economic development of the Coast region.
Critics argue that failure by founders of JKP to involve residents at the grassroots levels and reliance on advice of the elite have contributed to a delay in realising the bloc’s vision.
They say the change of guard from founder chair Salim Mvurya (Kwale) to Taita Taveta governor Granton Samboja last Wednesday was insignificant.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) began putting its house in order even as it emerged that its leader Raila Odinga may have already expressed interest in party s presidential ticket.
The party s National Executive Committee (NEC) met yesterday at a city hotel and resolved, among other things, to start preparations for grassroots elections.
The party also reiterated its February 26 deadline for those interested in flying the party presidential ticket to formally express their interest through its election board.

At Serena Beach Hotel and Spa in north Coast, we find Samuel Ndunda, 52, armed with a catapult to scare away birds. Ndunda is among three people employed solely to scare away Indian house crows, a preying bird that wreaks havoc at the Coast. The workers chase the black and grey necked birds that hover around the hotel lawn looking for food. “They are a real nuisance. They grab food from plates. They excrete all over as they fly from one spot to another,” he said.
