The National Assembly on Tuesday passed the Finance Bill 2021 with a majority vote despite protest by the opposition parties.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin introduced the Finance Amendment Bill 2021 in the House, which was opposed by the opposition. The House approved a motion to introduce the Finance Bill which was challenged by Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur of the PPP after which the speaker directed for the count of votes to begin. The House passed the motion with majority vote which led to the passage of Finance Bill, 2021, after clause by clause reading as well as voice voting along with amendments.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Tuesday managed to get the Finance Bill 2021, generally known as the federal budget, passed in the National Assembly with comfort as the opposition, which was without its leader Shehbaz Sharif, failed to put up any resistance.
A confident-looking Prime Minister Imran Khan attended the proceedings for only 50 minutes and left the assembly hall even before final vote on the budget after realising that his presence was no more required in the house to ensure the presence of the treasury members who had clearly outnumbered the opposition.

ISLAMABAD: The federal budget 2021-22 sailed through the National Assembly on Tuesday with majority vote after ten business days long debate which at its onset saw some distasteful moments after treasury and opposition benches came close to blows.
Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin moved the Finance Bill, 2021 in the House following which the opposition lawmakers debated it. A total of 172 lawmakers voted in favour of the motion while 138 lawmakers opposed it. The motion was passed with a majority vote which led to the passage of the Finance Bill, 2021, after clause by clause reading as well as voice voting along with amendments.
