Irrigation dept launches e-procurement system

July 26, 2021 LAHORE: The provincial Irrigation Department has developed an e-procurement system with the assistance of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). According to an announcement, the new system has the capacity for e-enlistment of contractors in respective categories, receipt of online bids, their evaluation and announcement of the successful/eligible bidder. For FY 2021-22, all contractors of the irrigation department will be required to enlist and bid for works under the new procurement system hosted on the official website. Minister for Irrigation Mohsin Khan Leghari inaugurated the new system while a training workshop for Executive Engineers and Contractors of Irrigation Department at Arfa Karim Tower was arranged in this connection.

Story highlights The court issued the ruling in response to a citizen s petition alleging that TikTok was spreading immorality and obscenity throughout the country. Pakistan s Sindh High Court has ordered TikTok, a popular video-sharing app, to be banned once more in Pakistan. This is the third time the app has been blocked in the Islamic Republic due to obscene and immoral content. Earlier on April 1 this year, Pakistan had lifted the second ban imposed on TikTok. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) was ordered by the court to ban the app until the next hearing on July 8. The court issued the ruling in response to a citizen s petition alleging that TikTok was spreading immorality and obscenity throughout the country.
