Iḷisaġvik College’s Pre-College Summer Camp Gets Financial Boost

Alaska’s largest telecommunications company, GCI, recently made a $10,000 contribution to Iḷisaġvik College and its pre-college summer camp program. The donation ensures that students have access to a learning environment that perpetuates and strengthens Iñupiat culture, language, and traditions. “We’re proud to support Alaska students’ journeys as they work toward their educational and professional goals,” says GCI vice president Annette Jones. “In partnership with Iḷisaġvik College, GCI is working hard to support efforts to provide students on Alaska’s North Slope with valuable educational opportunities and to help close the digital divide both through virtual and COVID-safe, in-person learning.”
