ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the death of one of their former deputies.
Don Kernodle, 71, recently retired from the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. Kernodle was a former NWA World Tag Team Champion.
Steve Johnson, a writer for Slam Wrestling said he knew Kernodle or the “Kernodledoodle,” personally and that he was a wonderful man.

Several Triad law enforcement members are reflecting after the funeral for two Watauga County sheriff s deputies killed in the line of duty.
Hundreds of them came to that service on Thursday. Rows of sheriffs, deputies, chiefs and officers from across the state gathered to say goodbye to Sergeant Chris Ward and K-9 Deputy Logan Fox.

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. The Alamance County Sheriff s Office said in a Facebook post, one person is wanted in connection with the shootout that left Union Academy teacher, Barney Harris, dead.
Gar-Yon-Ded-Weh Stepney is wanted after the sheriff s office said he was believed to have been involved in the double homicide that occurred on April 8.
Stepney has been charged with first degree murder and is considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators said Harris and another person went to a stash house in Alamance County on April 8 to steal money and drugs from the Sinaloa cartel.

Civil rights groups have settled a dispute with a North Carolina sheriff s office over courthouse protests against a Confederate monument.
The settlement guarantees that the grounds of the old Alamance County Courthouse must remain open to the public to exercise their First Amendment rights, requires the sheriff s office to acknowledge that swear words are protected speech even if they re directed at law enforcement officers, and also requires sheriff s employees to undergo racial bias training.
