The City of Huntsville has been given a $6 million grant to help those struggling to pay their rent or utility bills due to the coronavirus pandemic. We will take the $6 million and work with some of our partners, Scott Erwin, the community manager of Huntsville, said.
The plan is to allocate that money to those behind on their rent and utilities.
On Friday, Madison County Commissioner, Violet Edwards, announced that Madison County has secured a $5.2 million grant to provide emergency funds for those struggling financially with rent and utility costs.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Fearing eviction is a terrifying reality for an estimated 40 million Americans struggling to pay rent.
But soon, some Alabamians will be able to get their hands on money to help with that burden.
In the last stimulus package in December, Congress approved $25 billion for rental assistance. Millions of dollars will go to Alabama. But weâre told the stateâs share has not been received yet. That could come any day.
