Unitas Wholesale members operating primarily in the foodservice or on-trade channels will be given a 30% reduction in their membership fees for the year 2021/22.
The buying group stated that the reduction in fees was in recognition of the ongoing issues that the channel is facing because of the pandemic and the effect that lockdown restrictions have had on the out-of-home channel.
Managing Director John Kinney said: “2020 and the beginning of 2021 have been challenging for everybody; however, it has been catastrophic for the out-of-home sector and the independent wholesalers that serve it, with many having to close their doors temporarily while furloughing their teams.
