State police on Tuesday confirmed the identity of an Elmira man who was killed late Friday afternoon in a motorcycle crash in the Town of Big Flats.
Daquan T. Harrison was the operator of a motorcycle that collided with another vehicle on Chambers Road near the intersection with Interstate 86, state police reported.
The crash happened around 5:24 p.m. when Harrison was riding a 2003 Honda motorcycle south on Chambers Road near the I-86 westbound onramp, troopers said.
The initial investigation revealed the driver of a 2016 Jeep Compass that was northbound on Chambers Road attempted to turn left onto the westbound ramp to the interstate as the motorcycle was approaching from the opposite direction.
A GoFundMe is set up for an alleged Chambers Road crash victim

Henry County Manager Cherie Hobson-Matthews discusses the fiscal
year 2022 budget with the Board of Commissioners Monday
morning.
McDONOUGH â It appears a suggested increase to the countyâs millage rate may not happen due to lack of support from the Henry County Board of Commissioners.
The proposed 1-mill increase, worth about $8 million, was recommended by county staff during the March 30 fiscal year 2022 budget workshop. A millage increase would result in higher property taxes.
The rate increase could allow the county to accommodate all requests, largely for personnel, made by the public safety cluster, which includes Henry County Police, Fire Department and Sheriffâs Office.
