WHIZ News Governor DeWine Announces Updated Public Health Orders Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Tuesday announced Ohio Department of Health Director Stephanie McCloud signed the following public health orders: Addendum to Director’s Amended Order for Social Distancing, Facial Coverings, and Non-Congregating that does not require individuals who are fully-vaccinated to quarantine after exposure to someone with COVID-19, unless they live and work in a nursing home, long-term care facility, or other congregate care setting where those individuals are subject to CDC or other industry guidance.   Please follow and like us:

– – – New Investments Will Support Barrier-Free Services, Improve Service Delivery and Protection for Adults with Intellectual Disabilities: Squires The province is supporting accessibility and greater protection for Manitobans living with disabilities through a new $20-million endowment fund that will provide grants to municipalities, businesses and organizations to help eliminate barriers to their services, Families Minister Rochelle Squires announced today. “Our government is committed to ensuring services throughout the province are accessible and inclusive,” said Squires. “This investment will enable businesses, municipalities and organizations to make changes needed to ensure the services, goods and supports they provide are easily available to all Manitobans.”

Speaker named for Regis commencement

Special to the Crier Garth Graham, MD, MPH, a leading authority on social determinants of health, will deliver the commencement address at Regis College’s 2021 and 2020 commencement exercises on Saturday, May 8. Dr. Graham will also receive an honorary degree in recognition of his commitment to health equity, social change and making credible public health information more accessible around the world. Regis will also bestow honorary degrees on Anne Finucane, Bank of America vice chair and one of Forbes’ Top 100 Most Powerful Women, and James Brett, president of the New England Council. Due to the pandemic, Regis College in Weston announced earlier this year that commencement for the classes of 2020 and 2021 will be virtual. The Class of 2020’s ceremony was postponed from last May.
