Talking about the innovation, Kartik said how he decided to come up with this solution when he realised the huge amount of water that was being wasted when students in school use the washrooms.

Over are the days of trekking long distances to make a distress call. Finally, cell phones ring in the border villages of Machil, Dudi and Posh Wari. It was a tough task for the operators to extend the service as these villages are literally at the Line of Control (LoC). The aerial distance is between 8 and 12 km. Given the frequency of shelling and other security sensitivities, authorities had to take on board the army and ensure a lot of mandatory clearances. But if somebody deserves credit for extending the service, it is none other than Lt Governor Manoj Sinha who announce it in October 2020.

According to the statement, the students namely Anna Amin (Class 9th) & Nishit Kaul (Class 6th) have received a cash prize of Rs 10000 besides getting mentoring support from Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ commonly called INSPIRE is one of the flagship programmes of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.
The INSPIRE Awards – MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students in studying in classes 6 to 10.
Inspire Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) Eligibility
Students who have passed Class 12 from various recognized Indian State and Central Boards and studying regular courses in natural/ basic sciences three years B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), four years B.S and five years integrated M.Sc./M.S. programs in any UGC recognized College/ University/ Institutions in India. The SHE scholarship does not include courses in engineering, medicine, technology and other professional/technical /applied science courses.
Inspire SHE Scholarship: Value
The shortlisted candidate will receive a scholarship valued at Rs. 80,000 annually. Each candidate will receive the cash value of Rs. 60,000 per annum along with a summer time attachment fee of Rs. 20,000.
