Dreams FC coach expects team to improve
Dreams FC coach Vladislav Viric believes there is more room for improvement for his team despite their big win over Liberty Professionals on Sunday.
The ‘Still Believe’ thumped the Scientific Soccer Lads 4-1 at the Dawu Theatre of Dreams to extend their unbeaten run under the Serbian gaffer to four games.
“Now look 4-1. Of course here in Ghana, each game is difficult because all the teams are good,” he told Dreams FC media.
“Liberty Professionals have a lot of good players that is why they play the super league of Ghana and we also have a lot of good players and I am happy,” he added.
Elsewhere on Sunday, Bechem United’s hopes of possibly moving top of the table were crushed by a 2-1 away loss to Elmina Sharks at the Nduom Sports Stadium.
Moro Salifu’s goal in the second minute of injury time looked to have salvaged a point for the Hunters after Justice Mensah shot the home side in front in the 85th minute, but Ishmael Hammond struck a sensational winner in the 99th minute to win all three points for his side.
Medeama have moved to ninth on the league table following a 2-1 home triumph over relegation-trapped Inter Allies at Tarkwa’s Akoon Park. Abass Mohammed’s double propelled the Yellow and Mauves to victory, with Suleman Nafiu netting a consolation for Allies late in the game.
Ebusua Dwarfs FC
Liberty Professionals suffered their very first home defeat of the season as they succumbed to Ebusua Dwarfs with a 2-1 scoreline in the Ghana Premier League.
The Dansoman-based side couldn’t hold on to an early lead at the Karl Reindorf Park as Dwarfs come behind to record a second away win this term.
The visitors ended the game with 10 men after Simon Martey was shown the red card in the 74th minute.
David Ocloo altered his squad with two changes in the starting lineup that suffered a 2-0 defeat in the hands of Asante Kotoko SC last Monday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
WAFA vs Kotoko
This promises to be a very interesting encounter as Kotoko travel to Sogakope to face WAFA. WAFA who are coming off a very disappointing defeat to Legon Cities in the last round of fixtures will be looking to bounce back against the Porcupine Warriors. Midfielder Augustine Boakye is likely to return to the WAFA setup after missing the loss to Legon Cities. Kotoko are gaining some momentum on the local scene and their impressive 2-0 win against Liberty Professionals last week will give them some confidence heading into this weekend’s encounter away at WAFA. Coach Johnson Smith will be hoping key man Kwame Poku as well as Fabio Gama, who impressed at Liberty Professionals, will be up to the task on Saturday.
