Dubai: House rent and child’s education are the top monthly expenditure heads for Dubai-based Russian expatriate resident Milana Babikova, accounting for Dh12,000 in total. In a pandemic-hit realty market, Babikova managed to negotiate an attractive deal for a two-bedroom apartment in Dubai Marina at similar rent that she was paying for a single bedroom apartment in The Greens. What’s more, the landlord agreed to accept monthly rent cheques as opposed to a lump sum payment.
“While I managed to negotiate the house rent and save a monthly sum of Dh200-300 on Salik too, a conscious decision to shift my daughter from a British curriculum to an international school added Dh3,000 to my monthly expense. This will enhance her prospects of higher education in a country of her choice instead of being restricted to the UK,” Babikova explained.

Islamabad : Islamabad police has arrested major culprits of street crimes and house buglers gangs and recovered cash and other valuable items from their procession, a police spokesperson said on Thursday.
In the jurisdictions of police stations Noon and Shalimar the police teams have arrested three members of two criminals gangs involved in street crimes, house buglers and recovered snatched cash, gold ornaments and valuable from their possession
SHO Shalimar Inspector Arshad Ali along with others officials arrested wanted members of house bugler gang identified as Raza Minhas and recovered stolen gold ornaments 20 tola.
Case has been registered against them and further investigation is underway from him. SHO Noon Sub-inspector Ishtiaq Hussain Shah along with other officials arrested two members of criminal’s gang involved in snatching mobile phones and other valuables at gun point from the citizens. 29 more public vehicles impounded for flouting SOPs

RAWALPINDI:
The Regional Transport Authority impounded 29 public vehicles and imposed fines on 41 for violating SOPs set by the Punjab government amid the third wave of coronavirus on Saturday.
RTA Secretary Arshad Ali said the Punjab government had banned intra-city transport from April 1 to April 11. However, some transporters were still running the service in violation of the government orders.
The official said the authority had impounded 29 public transport vehicles at different police stations and imposed fines on 41 over violation of SOPs. Ali said the implementation of the government’s orders would be ensured at all costs.
