Naji Fakhreddine, 66, was arrested in Arncliffe about 7.30am on Wednesday and charged with murder. Police believe the two men met socially 13 years ago and had subsequent contact not long before Mr Lehmann, 66, a German national, was found dead in his unit on Valentine’s Day. Bernd Lehmann’s body was found inside his unit in Ashfield 13 years ago. Police say Mr Lehmann was killed in a “vicious” and “frenzied” attack that left him with serious head injuries. Nothing was stolen from his home in the inner west suburb of Ashfield, raising questions about the reason for the “emotive” attack.
