Remembering Reggie : Sacramento-area panhandler, beloved by many, dies at age 65

May 20 Community members are sharing an outpouring of love and paying respects to Reggie Wortham, a staple of Sacramento County s Arden Arcade area, who died last week. He was 65.
Wortham, a military veteran born and raised in the Sacramento area, was known for panhandling at the busy intersection of Howe Avenue and Alta Arden Expressway and others nearby for the past two decades.
Wortham died May 13, according to his daughter, Regina Newman. If you are from Sacramento you have seen or know Reggie, Newman wrote in a GoFundMe page, raising money for her father s memorial services. Reggie would talk to anyone and knew no stranger.
High School Teacher In Sacramento Reportedly Displayed Nazi Flag In Class

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A teacher at Rio Americano High in Sacramento’s Arden Arcade neighborhood is being investigated by the school district after he reportedly displayed a Nazi flag in class.
On Tuesday, the San Juan Unified School District issued a statement saying that last week, a teacher displayed several flags from Germany in his class, including that of Nazi Germany. The flags were removed from the classroom last week.

May 9 Woodland law enforcement officials found a missing 11-year-old girl after an Endangered Missing Advisory was issued for the at-risk young girl who was last seen Saturday afternoon in the Arden Arcade area.
The Sacramento County Sheriff s Office and the California Highway Patrol issued alerts for the girl, last seen by her parents about 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of El Camino Avenue at Darwin Street, not far from Howe Avenue. As of 10:30 a.m. Sunday, CHP officials said she had been found safe.
