A quick word with Hannah Hong, Director of Lemon & Beaker Skincare What s one place you d take every visitor to NZ and why? For me, it will always be the Milford Track. I walked the track in January this year and found the scenery fascinating. It’s the best place to get the complete ‘in-touch with nature experience’ and be surrounded by native bush. It was also the chance to meet some really lovely people during the five-day group tour I did. What s your secret backyard favourite spot? I love Monte Cecilia Park in Hillsborough. It’s one I use often and is such a lovely place for a good 15-minute walk. You get a great view of One Tree Hill and the historical Pah Homestead, an art gallery at the top of the hill. The park is a great place for a little picnic.

Fiordland’s brilliant night sky could soon be as much an attraction to domestic and international visitors as its stunning daytime scenery.
Great South has been working with the Fiordland community and stakeholders on the possibility of it becoming an accredited Dark Sky Park with the International Dark Sky Association.
Great South GM Tourism and Events Bobbi Brown said the night sky over Fiordland was of exceptional quality and early indications suggest it would meet the required level for international designation and potentially add another string to the bow for tourism operators.

As the nights get longer, our night sky gets brighter. Our daylight activities may shrink, but we gain more in the constellations.
