Gene Rollinson first confirmed entry for 2021 TCR New Zealand season

The Aucklander is going to drive a Hyundai i30 N TCR for team Racer Products.
“I’m really excited to be joining the TCR NZ Championship,” said Rollinson.
“TCR is a well-known global formula that is growing even bigger at a fast pace so it will be very cool to be a part of that.”
Rollinson has previously raced various GT and touring car categories in New Zealand, most recently driving the Hyundai in endurance races.
“The cars are pretty awesome, whilst they drive from the front wheels and don’t have a lot of horsepower, they’ve got big brakes and some aero which makes them really fun to hustle and are as quick as most GT cars,” said Rollinson.

Amended TCR New Zealand calendar down to three events

The 2021 TCR New Zealand championship calendar has been amended and reduced from four to three rounds.
The season opener at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon, planned for January 23-24, has been removed due to shipping delays and logistical issues due to the ongoing pandemic.
“Whilst COVID-19 continues to affect the sport third-hand, it highlights the need to remain flexible for the future,” said category manager Lindsay Dodd.
“We are still pleased to be able to deliver a strong season and I know our competitors are looking forward to finally getting underway and enjoying the amazing circuits the South Island has to offer.”
