Our Mustang Month continues with the story of the legendary 1967 GT500 Super Snake. Born out of the outrageous idea of fitting a Le Mans-winning GT40 engine into a pony car, it has become one of the most iconic vehicles ever built by the legendary Carroll Shelby.
Rolled out for the 2017 model year, the Super Snake 50th Anniversary was offered in two flavors. The one that would make Carroll Shelby proud is the 750-horsepower option, which is centered around a Whipple supercharger.
To begin with, Ford chose an awesome nameplate for what became one of the most iconic cars in history. The automaker also christened many Mustang trims with very catchy names that increased the cool factor throughout the years, so here are our favorite five of them.

Back in March, Shelby American presented three modified Mustangs forming the Bundle of Snakes collection. With a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing over 825, the star car of the trio was the 2021 Shelby Super Snake Speedster, which costs a whopping $138,780.
If that s above your price range, Shelby American has unveiled the new entry-level 2021 Shelby GT as an alternative to the Roush Mustang. Based on the 2021 Ford Mustang GT with a manual transmission, the Shelby GT has received a price cut for 2021. A pre-built 2021 Shelby GT will set you back $62,310, or the upgrades are available as a package for existing Mustang GTs built from the 2018 model year for $24,995.
