Two policemen were “attached on line” as punishment in Khandwa in Madhya Pradesh for beating some villagers on Sunday following a dispute between health workers and relatives of a patient of COVID-19, an official said. .
A video of the incident, in which police can be seen hitting a male and two women with plastic pipes, went viral on social media shortly after.
The officer said that a police team had reached Sarsod Banjari village under the boundary of Chaigaon Makhan police station after a quarrel between a 20-year-old COVID-19 patient and a relative of health workers.
