COVID-19 update: NSW records 89 new local cases and another death
Fresh coronavirus infections in NSW dropped below 100 on Tuesday but Premier Gladys Berejiklian indicated the numbers would continue to bounce around with cases still infectious in the community.

New South Wales has recorded 89 local coronavirus cases, including 21 who were infectious in the community, and another death as restrictions are tightened for essential workers in south-west Sydney.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian revealed the drop in numbers on Tuesday, the day after her state reported its highest number of daily infections this year with 112 cases on Monday.

The fresh COVID-hit venues were listed late on Monday night after 112 local cases were recorded in NSW, with 34 of those infectious in the community.

Sydney’s COVID exposure sites list has swelled overnight to include dozens of transport routes, a Priceline Pharmacy and a Westpac bank.
NSW Health named the hotspots on Monday night, just 12 hours after NSW recorded its highest daily total of new infections this year – at 112.
The fresh cases on Monday take the state’s latest outbreak to 678.
